Special Plea
23rd August 2021
Dear Teen Challenge Supporter,
Covid 19 Impact
Teen Challenge successfully survived the 2020 covid impact in main part through the Job Keeper program. The Circuit Breaker lockdowns imposed in Victoria on and off since the 15th of July 2021 are a totally different matter.
The Government assistance is manifestly insufficient to provide any meaningful funds towards meeting normal business overheads. Currently that assistance is $2800 per week whilst businesses are closed.
TC’s thrift stores supplies approximately 75% of the income streams required to keep TC operating.
Our CBD thrift stores will have traded 9 days out of a possible 49 trading days since 15Th July to 2nd September 2021.
TC is of course totally blameless in this situation but strictly a victim of the Covid pandemic.
Financial Forecasting reveals that TC will face a cash flow shortage during mid to late September 2021.
Accordingly, we seek your support to ensure we have funds to continue to operate and provide the
care and attention to our clients, who are making great inroads, in their fight to beat addiction
We have had your support from the beginnings in 1976 in St Kilda and our campus in Kyabram since 1986 and thank you most sincerely for all that you have done.
We pray that you still feel the same way and if you can spare a little to help it would be appreciated
All of us at Teen Challenge are praying that you and your family stay safe and well in these strange times
